2nd shift Production Supervisor (Rhode Island)

Summary: In this highly visible position, reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely with other management team members on all facets of production planning and execution requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Organize work for smooth operations and ensure that production goals are met.
  • Support production control and production management requirements.
  • Responsible for all processes, equipment, employees, safety and housekeeping, and for meeting production quality and quantity standards.
  • Ensure that established policies and procedures are followed.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of all processes and equipment.

Your Profile:

  • 2 - 10 years of supervisory experience in a fast paced, high volume environment, preferably manufacturing.
  • BS degree, preferably in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering.
  • A strong understanding of electrical and mechanical processes.
  • Knowledge of MS Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work in a team environment.
  • The ability to be a self-starter with flexibility to switch tasks with little or no direction.
  • Working knowledge of ISO, QS and TS quality systems and certifications desirable.

Operations Manager (Rhode Island)

Summary:  Greystone is seeking an Operations Manager for its Lincoln, Rhode Island machining plant.  The qualified candidate must have direct manufacturing experience in a leadership role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct day to day manufacturing to achieve established production goals.
  • Lead an operations team of 120 employees to continuously improve operating efficiencies.
  • Manage operating costs to established budgets; Labor to sales ratio critical.
  • Coordinate hiring and staffing requirements including vacations, attendance and employee morale.
  • Lead operator training and compliance program.
  • Lead safety initiatives to achieve establishes goals.
  • Lead SPC, layered audits and daily work procedures to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities to ensure machine up-time goals are met.
  • Work closely with the Engineering Manager, Second Operations Manager and Quality Manager to maximize plant safety, quality, efficiency and profitability.

Quality

  • Ensure all activities are performed in compliance with company quality policy and other plant quality certifications.
  • Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving initiatives with machinists, quality engineering, and other support functions.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.

Scheduling

  • Coordinate team efforts to meet customer demand on a daily basis.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement.

Cost Management

  • Monitor consumable supply usage, report issues to plant management, and make recommendations for new products.
  • Manage consumable supplies to budget.
  • Manage overtime to budget.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Work independently to supervise and direct associates in assigned team.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Conduct daily meetings with team to review goals and shift change instructions.
  • Work independently to meet delivery schedules; seeks help when additional resources are required.
  • Develop key interdepartmental relationships with engineering, quality assurance, sales and customers to effectively expedite orders to satisfy the company’s commitment to 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously and complete within required timeline.
  • Read, understand, and develop operational reports, schedules, and other reports.
  • Additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, mechanical preferred.
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience in manufacturing, preferably in machine turning.
  • Automotive Industry and quality systems experience preferred.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and time management skills.
  • Excellent problem solving skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Basic computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office and ADP time/attendance software.

Lead Machinist(Rhode Island)

Summary: Tends metal fabricating screw machines and conventional turn machines such as Hydromat, Acme, Tornos, Schutte, Royal Master Grinding and Index multi-spindle machines and associated support equipment such as tool grinders, presses, leak testers, coiners, and inspection equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • 8 hr shift during which activities require the operator to be in the standing position 80% of the time period.
  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, template or manufacturing data sheets.
  • Reads and understands all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for equipment.
  • Works with safety features in place at all times.
  • Reads and understands all gauging procedures/requirements for jobs being manufactured.
  • Pushes button(s) or depresses pedal to activate machine.
  • Observes machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.
  • Measures work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation and quality of output.
  • Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work piece.
  • Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, tool sharpening, or work piece replacement.
  • Removes chips and bar ends from machine while push a cart weighting 50+ lbs.
  • Adds oil to machine using pump truck and/or 5 gallon pails.
  • Loads machine with 12ft bar stock several times per shift per machine, while running a minimum of 2 machines; standard is 3 machines.
  • Sets up machine, stacks, marks, packs and transports finished work pieces (10-15lbs).
  • Additional duties as required.
  • Setup experience preferred.

 Education / Experience / Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One to three months job training; safety training in proper handling of equipment.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

1st Shift Maintenance Technician (Rhode Island)

Summary: Greystone has an immediate new opportunity for a talented 1st Shift MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN with our Induplate plating plant located in North Providence, Rhode Island. 

As part of our maintenance team, you will install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and physical plant systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Visually inspect machinery and equipment. Troubleshoot and repair as needed
  • Dismantles defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other machine components.
  • Installs and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to repair of plumbing and piping systems including air, hydraulic, steam and PVC.
  • Repair and maintain various pumps and filters associated with a chemical processing plant.   
  • Repair and maintain physical plant systems.
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as a lathe, grinder, drill and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures and tools.
  • Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
  • Carpentry experience a plus.

Education / Experience / Training:

  • High school diploma, trade or technical school certification or equivalent.
  • 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills.  Ability to perform electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic repairs on heavy and moderate equipment.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, pump repair, welding and carpentry.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and fluid equipment.
  • Ability to safely and technically work in close proximity to and with others to perform repairs and installations in a safe manner.
  • Valid driver’s license.  Certified in fork lift operations.

 

2nd Shift Custodian (Rhode Island)

Summary: Greystone of Lincoln is looking for a 2nd shift Custodian. This custodian position will be responsible for maintaining our facility. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian roll focused on building upkeep and sanitation. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs, factory and office space.
Empties trash and garbage containers.
Performs maintenance and minor repairs (fixing door handles, minor leaks, replaces air conditioner filters etc).
Notifies management concerning need for major repairs.
Cleans snow and debris from walkways.
Exterior upkeep-Trims shrubbery, disposes of litter, cultivates flowers (as required).

 Education / Experience / Training:

High school diploma is preferred but not required.
3-6 months related experience or training.
Ability read and comprehend simple instructions.
Valid Driver License required.
